The Before Picture

I received this Vanity in good shape and decided to add a girly touch to it.  The inspiration for the design came from a Ribbon of Roses I found at a fabric store.  The roses are the perfect shade of soft and subtle pink that remind me of the ballet.  I’m hoping a little girl will have lots of sweet memories with this piece!

Roses and lace to outline any child's beautiful face in the mirror.

Pink slip cover with Ribbon of Roses and Ruffles!

Hand painted pink accents, and dainty gold ribbon.

I love helping people on a budget.  It forces the creative juices to flow!  This simple slip-cover for a bachelor pad helps to re-vive this stained & worn down ottoman for the client on a very low-budget.  Best part was….the fabric was from a consignment store dress!

I love this idea for Summer entertainment.  These flowers are from L.A. Botanicals, but the idea is mixing candles with flowers of varying heights.  The rose petals create a natural table runner and the Ti leaves placed in each vase beautifully hide the stems in these clear glass vases.  Would be fun to surprise your best girlfriends with something like this one day, right?

The goal was to find larger scale outdoor furniture with seating for 6 or more, to offer some shade from the harsh sun, and to add a more vibrant color palette.  The clients asked for a computerized design plan to help them make some final decisions.  It was hard for this client’s husband to visualize how a Bright Red outdoor sectional would look in his front deck.  This computer design program allows me to show clients a fairly accurate picture of what the room could potentially look like with accessories to balance it all together.  In the end, they were both confident and happy with their selections.

It is fun to update children’s bedrooms as  they grow and use different toys!  Here, I show the newly designed bedroom/playroom for my almost 6-year-old girl & 8-yr old boy.  The dark brown & light blue wall colors help to masculanize this room in a gentle way.  The Loft bed from Ikea serves as a bunk bed which saves space and provides more play area.  Although they share the same area for sleep, the curtain panels along each side of the bed offer some needed privacy for changing.  The kids love the flower night lights that attach to the wall!

The Ikea bookshelves with baskets make a place for books, small toys and those million and one stuffed animals.  The two Ikea White Wardrobes give much-needed closet space and make good use of the limited tall space in the room.    And what kids don’t love Bean Bags…they’re soft, can be moved around and (most importantly) used secretly to catch them as they jump off the ladder…yikes!

Here, there was a distinct boy & girl space, but not much space for play.  This nice size bonus room lacks closets or storage areas.

Warming up the space

Here, my client & I went to Mary Jo’s and selected some Light and Dark chocolate silk fabric with a protective Liner to create a focal point, warm up the living room and continue the underlying gold and brown theme in the room.  Window treatments also helped with noise reduction in this 2 story home.

The Liner will help increase the life of the Silk Fabric from the harsh sun.
